Santa Maria del Rio is a calm town surrounded by hills located in San Luis Potosí where craftsmen of the region have maintained the beautiful tradition of the elaboration of shawls. At present shawls continue to be woven in the loom of waist almost the same way than in the pre-Hispanic time.
